Bad posture is an unrecognized flaw in many people. However, for models, posture is a harmful flaw. Always remember to keep your back straight and your shoulders up. Slouching affects the mood of the photograph and enlarges the appearances of your stomach. In addition to your back and shoulders, always remember to flex your stomach muscles. Despite your weight or state of shape, your abdomen will appear more toned if you flex.

So you want to be a model but you don’t know where to start or you’re already a model and you want to know how to promote yourself. Or you dont know how to get your child into modeling. I am here to help with that, I have put together a small guide to help you on your way to model success using modeling services, modeling agencies.

As with any job/skill or trade there are always secrets and tricks to get you to where you want to go. One question I am always asked is “How do I get agent’s to recognize me”. This is the most common question I get almost daily now. Well the answer really is a lot simpler then you might think its web promotion.  Just because you’re not a fortune 500 business doesn’t mean you’re not subject to the same online marketing needed to give you exposure. As a matter of fact the internet is a lot easier then then trying to call agents and make them angry with your sales pitch that they have heard day in and day out. Here is the list Model’s need to get started and recognized in the industry.

1.            Have a nice custom website dedicated to you and only you.

This is one of the most important things you can do for your career, not only will it highlight your talents but it also shows your determination and focus to succeed.

2.            Have a custom comp card with your best photos and contact information.

Most models forget to have their comp cards, but this is key in landing jobs.

3.            After your website is done get a SEO Marketing team to push you name. You money will never be spent more wisely then this. A good SEO plan will get your name on the search engines and create an online identity for you. Creating blogs, press releases and more.

4.            Make sure you have a complete media kit online & hard copy ready to send

to prospective clients and model agents. So it’s all looks easy right, well there is a little more to it than that. Make sure everything you do you put effort into. If you don’t put everything you have into your website and marketing then that will show. Impression is everything when you want to be a successful model so make sure everything you do represents you and your style.  I cannot stress this enough and I hope my point comes across strong enough.

Last, remember the ultimate goal as a model is to get exposure, work & money. If you get caught up with to many photo shoots it is very easy to lose focus on the ultimate goal, which is work. Time and time again we see girls spend 2 years on taking photos, editing and looking for the perfect photo for their comp cards. All the while there wasting their time and money and could be prospecting companies looking to hire model talent.
